My second entry in this project is "Roll Over Beethoven", by Chuck Berry. Although he recorded it in 1956, I was introduced to it via the Beatles Second Album. I appreciate how Mr. Berry captured the tension between different types of music, specifically classical and rhythm and blues.
I enjoy playing covers, and challenging myself to come up with a fresh approach to each. With this song, however, the boy just wanted to have fun. Let me know what you think, either here or on Facebook.
BTW: I may not have said it before, but none of the songs in this collection are among those that I have written or that were written by other members of Two-Car Garage - you'll have to look elsewhere for those. But the songs of the SixtySong Collection definitely informed my own writing.
